Corporate Profile

CEO Message

StormHarbour Japan launched its business in December 2010. Our global platform was established in Tokyo, New York, London and Asia by experienced bankers from leading global investment banking firms in the midst of the “storm” of financial crises, in 2009, who were united in their aspiration to better serve clients.

Our partnership system operating on a global basis enables us to implement a flat Organizational structure so that we may truly put clients first, both in name and substance.

Our mission is to provide superior capital markets solutions and strategic advice including M&A to our clients’ challenges. To this end, we are constantly thinking of how we may contribute to our clients’ growth and value creation. Because our Tokyo office does not engage in proprietary trading nor securities underwriting, we are in a position to provide our clients with highly objective advice that leverages our global perspective on the capital markets. For example, in the eyes of overseas investors, there are many companies with high enterprise value which escape notice. We are also able to evaluate proposals from financial institutions and provide impartial advice without any conflict of interests.

“What should be an investment bank’s societal role and function?” is a question we seriously ask ourselves. StormHarbour Japan’s role and function is to provide high value-added solutions and extremely reliable execution to our clients, who are the leading players in the economy. By constantly being there for our clients, we believe we can pursue, and ultimately become, a new type of investment banking firm unbound by conventional models.

Thank you for your interest in StormHarbour. We hope you will enjoy your visit to our website and our group website.

Yoshifumi Watanabe
CEO and Representative Director
